the Binghams' Christmas morning

Christmas morning was a bittersweet affair for us this year. It was wonderful because it was our first Christmas together as a married couple, but we truly missed being home with our families in Victoria. Mrs. Bingham surprised her husband by acquiring the recipe for the traditional family breakfast from his mother and then making it for him on Christmas morning. We shared a teary moment over breakfast as we thought of all our loved ones in Victoria (and because Caitlin had to work on Christmas Day for the first time ever, something Matt has never had to do before). However, Mrs. Bingham set the tree up beautifully as well as the stockings, helping to remind us both of home, while Mr. Bingham made a special slideshow for his wife highlighting their lives together thus far.

The presents sent to us by our families were wonderful and we enjoyed opening them so much together. Here is Caitlin's new toque, courtesy of the family in Port Alberni:

Mr. Bingham received TML boxers from his wife and a little TML bear from his in-laws, with which he was very happy:

We want to tell our families how much we appreciate your generosity and that we love you all very much. Though we could not be in Victoria with you, you sent a slice of home with all the gifts you sent out through both Canada Post and through the Kingsleys (you too, Nazzy!). We pray that yours was as wonderful as was ours. Cheers...
