a little slice of home

Last night we were treated to a wonderful concert that reminded us of life on the coast and reunited us with a great friend. DB Clifford came to town to play a show at a club in London, bringing with him his band which includes Johnny "the 5 is Alive" Andrews on the drums!! The show was awesome and they really impressed some of the people who began to trickle in. One dude was just amazed and said he was so happy to have some live soul music in London. It was wonderful to see Johnny and spend some time catching up and talking about music. We ended up playing roadies for Daniel, Rick May (best bassist EVER!) and Johnny, which made us look very important. The band seemed very happy to have us there because we knew their music and because we were so happy to see THEM as well. It was good times all around!

The band has only gotten tighter since the few times that we saw that at Steamers in Victoria and it is very obvious why Daniel was signed by Sony/BMG. The guy has got skills and with an A+ rhythm section behind him (Rick May has toured with many acts, including being the bassist in Michael Jackson's band on the "Thriller" tour and Johnny lays down a sweet drum line, we all know that!) it appears that he is going to continue to slay audiences eith his live performances (based on some reactions last night from onlookers). The label is releasing his first single next week and a full-length album in the New Year.

We look forward to their return to London on November 20th and hope to haul some of our friends and Matt's classmates out to the show as well. Rockin'...

Finally a new post on your website.

It was good to read the skilled writings of a trained blogger rather than just the ramblings of an enraged one.

Good to hear you enjoyed the concert.

Yay for Daniel and Johnny!!!!!! Aren't they just the cutest little musicians you ever saw?! And Rick is just plain awesome. I miss you guys. I wish I could have been at the show with you. But I'm glad I got to talk to you when you needed to find out how to contact that monkey!
